Did anybody notice...

...that "Der Silbervogel fliegen müssen" is really garbled? The correct German sentence would be "Der Silbervogel muss fliegen". I did not read the novel, but I would be curious to see what other basic research the author did not do. Der Bischof mit der E-Gitarre (talk) 03:22, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Der Bischof mit der E-Gitarre: That quote comes word for word from the book. I have an ebook edition and the quote is on the first page of the chapter "Silver and Gold" (around page 43). The Internet Archive has a copy of the book and the quote is on page 42. Plugging the quote into Google Translate returns "The silver bird must fly", which is what the book says it means in English. Google Translate also returns "The silver bird must fly" for "Der Silbervogel muss fliegen". I don't speak German, so I can't say whether the quote in the book is correct or not. —Bruce1eetalk 09:00, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello! I should have made clear that I meant the autor of the book, not the author of the article - so I would like to apologize for my careless wording. Der Bischof mit der E-Gitarre (talk) 12:42, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
No need to apologize, I realized you were referring to the author of the book. I just wanted to point out that the quote ("Der Silbervogel fliegen müssen") was correctly copied from the book. —Bruce1eetalk 13:38, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
