Toast as in Sliced bread

edit

I altered the note about toast meaning sliced bread because this is not simply a German thing; in various other European languages a word derived from English toast is used to refer to the Anglo-American style sliced white bread (what the French call pain de mie). No such cooking technique?

Every chef I've ever worked and studied under is wrong. Apparently, this bottle of toasted sesame seeds on the shelf next to me also doesn't exist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.113.240.160 (talk) 07:36, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
