The result of the move request was: moved to Xiao Hu Dui. Jenks24 (talk) 14:27, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
The Little Tigers (band) → The Little Tigers – Per WP:2DABS, no disambiguation page is necessary particularly since the comic strip has no page of its own. A hatnote should suffice. Timmyshin (talk) 20:38, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Request - Timmy, agreeing with most of these moves, you've caught some corkers, but would you mind presenting a Google Books search result on this one? How often are Xiaohu-dui the subject? Thanks. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:59, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, couldn't find any in English. Timmyshin (talk) 21:13, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- No :), exactly, the term invariably refers to the Little Tigers subset in Asian Tigers (economics). So why should we make the Taiwanese band Xiaohu-dui the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC here? In ictu oculi (talk) 01:56, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Support until an objection is found. Red Slash 23:41, 3 September 2014 (UTC)- User:Red Slash, what results did you get from Google Books search. Did you get the same results as me, which is why I requested User:Timmyshin do a Google Books search, I was being polite and friendly, since this editor is doing good work, but I don't believe after a Google Books search he will support his own move request. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- I do have reservations now but not for the reason that you indicated, since I'm not a believer of Google Books. Anyway, my concern is that the Taiwanese band doesn't appear to have ever used an English name on any of their albums as far as I can see. Perhaps "Xiao Hu Dui" is a better title? Timmyshin (talk) 02:30, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- Argh, I think I misread this the first time. My apologies, In ictu oculi. Yeah, support Xiao Hu Dui Red Slash 02:45, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- Support moving to Xiao Hu Dui, we should not be in the business of using translations where the name of the entity has not been translated by others. bd2412 T 03:20, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- User:BD2412 while I completely agree with your comment, I may have misled: sorry I didn't mean to imply "Little Tigers" was never used for 小虎隊 in Google Books, it seems to be used 4 times, and Xiaohu dui 2 times, I was simply saying that the move cannot claim The Little Tigers which refers to the Asian Tiger economies. I would be neutral between Little Tigers (band) and Xiao Hu Dui. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:17, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- If translated at all, it seems to have been done very little, which leads me to think that we should be going by the much more common untranslated name. I would agree that for our English-speaking readers, the economic usage would therefore predominate over the effective non-usage with respect to the band. bd2412 T 14:31, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
