Lebensansichten des Katers MurrThe Life and Opinions of the Tomcat Murr — The page title should be the English version of the title, cf. War and Peace, Homer's Odyssey, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Humphrey Jungle (talk) 21:05, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Support; it should, although there are several translations available. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 14:44, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Importance should be raised

edit

The Life and Opinions of Tomcat Murr, by E.T.A. Hoffman, should have a higher rating. It was the inspiration for Kreisleriana, composed by Robert Schumann before his death. It is also frequently referred to in the Andrew Crumey novel Möbius Dick. Hedley (talk) 02:19, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

What?

edit

Is this seriously part of wikipedia cats project? Anyway I deleted the last bit with the new yorker because it's not true. The introduction clearly describes the situation, the editor was in such a rush to print the manuscript he didn't read the whole thing. Tomcat Murr used the Kreisler biography as blotting paper, to absorb ink seeping through the page he was writing on. So The Murr book isn't written on the pages of the Kreisler biography. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.191.104.57 (talk) 04:12, 11 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
