Inaccuracies?

The last two bullets under "Inaccuracies" ought to be removed. They sound like jokes. Obviously dinosaurs didn't speak English, dance, or love (at least not like humans do). They're not inaccuracies. It's just a cartoon. I doubt the writers were going for realism when they decided to make the characters talk and dance. Gigametroid99 (talk) 14:03, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

What if the fourteenth sequel to be done by Disney

What if Disney could take over TLBT franchise, and its first and only theatrical film was The Land Before Time XIV: Dawn of Mankind, which tells Littlefoot and the gang met a human for the first time.

The Land Before Time (series) → The Land Before Time (franchise) – This article covers more than just the films. I tried to move it back to "(franchise)", but it was reverted by Anythingspossibleforapossible. And per the naming conventions at WP:NCF, if "(franchise)" is unacceptable, the title should at least be "(film series)". The disambiguation "(series)" is too ambiguous for the scope of this article. Sharpteeth voice actor

Frank Welker is credited at least once (the Velociraptor pack) as listed in the credits of the third movie, but there isn't much solid proof on the others, aside from Sharptooth being said to be voiced by him uncredited everywhere. Hypnobrai (talk) 16:43, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

2016 the final film?

We do not have a source directly stating the 2016 film is the last film. However, the box set released in 2016 is titled the "complete" collection and it's rather rare for anyone to ever definitively put the final nail in the coffin, so-to-speak,

Whether or not you want there to be more does not matter.

Rather than "final," why not "last"? I would think that it would be most appropriate to simply state that there are 14 films, a cartoon series and some games in the series, and have no discussion of "the end of the franchise" nor imply that the franchise is still ongoing despite obvious dormancy. Unless there are official announcements about there being more films or material to come, saying or implying that the franchise is ongoing despite no activity would be running afoul of WP:CRYSTAL and WP:OR.--Mr Fink (talk) 04:57, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

That's certainly an option.

Also, "last" can mean "most recent in time; latest"?[1].

I think the cleanest solution is to remove that "years" field in the infobox that we are edit warring about. It doesn't appear to be a standard field for Template:Infobox media franchise, and other articles about film franchises do not have it. For example, Kung Fu Panda (franchise) is another example of a film franchise whose last film was in 2016 and may have another film or may not, we just don't know—it doesn't have any years field in the infobox. – The franchise has 15+ media topics with more than 10+ films. I'm thinking the franchise should be at the base title since the film has grown into such a large franchise that readers may be best served going to the franchise article to determine what they're trying to look for in the franchise, rather than starting at the film article. While the first film is the most popular, it represents less than half the views among all the other options in the franchise (page views comparison is limited to 10 items).   • In response to this, the aforementioned examples are both 1) the defining film/item of the series and 2) do not have nearly as many items in the franchise as The Land Before Time (franchise) has. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that Toy Story and Shrek have both passed the test of time as the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC above their franchise itself (even though I think the verdict may still be out on extending the aforementioned statement to Shrek) ... the film subject currently at The Land Before Time, not so much, and maybe not at all.
