Duplicate of Tupinambis
editWhat is the difference between this page and Tupinambis? Tupinambis has more information and has citations. Maronaut (talk) 10:28, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
- "Tegu" is an informal classification which partially corresponds to subfamily Tupinambinae, and mostly just means "any lizard in Teiidae that's not a whiptail or racerunner, especially if it's big". It's a bit like the page for toad - it's a common term that needs a page, but the colloquial use is a terrible mess. HCA (talk) 14:56, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
