The introduction in Context is extremely POV. Furthermore by suggesting that responsibility lay with General Allenby it is also rather far-fetched.JohnC (talk) 06:24, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's not clear which section or what text you mean is extremely POV, but feel free to edit or remove anything you feel is non-neutral, or let me know so I can edit it. There is no suggestion in the text that General Allenby was responsible for the massacre, although as Commander-in-Chief of the Division I suppose he could be held indirectly responsible for the division's conduct, but I'm not sure what you mean here either. Please elaborate so I can amend the article accordingly. --Canley (talk) 06:43, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to Khalidi, 1992, both Sarafand al-Amar and the smaller Sarafand al-Kharab were, at one time, burned. According to Khalidi, p. 413: "During the late 1920s Sarafand al-Kharab was briefly reduced to ruins once again, after British forces burned it. This was in retaliation for the killing of British soldiers who had entered the village drunk, violating the sensibilities of the inhabitants and, apparently, committing some offense that enraged the villagers. Many were displaced by this incident.."
