I would like to add in the History section, that the first settlers were four Indian villages and campsites that were in or near what has now become known as Pocopson Township. Two were located on the Brandywine, one just north of Route 926 and the other northeast of Route 52. A third was near Marshallton and a fourth was just over the line in Newlin Township. These Native Americans were apart of a tribe that had occupied this territory for thousands of years. They called themselves "Lenni Lenape" which meant "common people" and they were usually near a river or creek valley. I want to add this information because I feel that this type of history holds a lot of value to an area of land, and I think many people who research this township would be interested to know this piece of historical information.
