Talk:Nathdwara painting

Suggestions

edit
  • Ref 1 does not say Pichhwai is a sub-class of Nathwara Painting. Find a reference that explicitly says so. If you find such a reference, you might also consider merging Pichhwai here
  • I am not sure if any of the images in the article are "nathwara paintings". If they are, say so explicitly
  • Consistent spelling needed: Shrinathji/Srinathji. Choose one
  • Pushti Marg needs to be mentioned somewhere. Ref 3 relates the sect to the origin of the paintings
  • Crosscheck links: for eg. article Goswami was not about the Goswamis discussed here
  • Explain jargon on first mention: eg. "the Hindu god" Shrinathji, milkmaid gopi
  • Punctation should be before the ref tag.
  • Need to expand on following topics: sub-styles (including pichwai), colours and surfaces used, any prominent artists--Redtigerxyz Talk 10:10, 21 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merger Proposal

edit

I propose that [[1]] be merged into [[2]]. I think that the content in the Pichwai article can easily be explained in the context of Nathdwara school of painting, and the Nathdwara Painiting article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Pichwai will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. The Pichwai paintings are Nathdwara paintings that are specifically made for the purpose of hanging on the wall behind the idol of the Hindu god Srinathji in the temple at Nathdwara.Click here for reference 111.92.70.40 (talk) 20:42, 24 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
