María José Rienda ContrerasMaría José RiendaWP:COMMONNAME is always "María José Rienda", omitting maternal surname. See all references on this page, and her FIS-Ski profile, Olympics profile, Olympedia profile, Instagram, Twitter, and Spanish Wiki page. When she was active as a skier, which is what she is known for, she competed using both surnames. She uses her full name on her official website. The page shall not be moved. Marbe166 (talk) 22:15, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
The website itself is at mariajoserienda.com. Her COMMONNAME omits her maternal surname, so it should be changed even if sometimes she uses both. That's the policy. Ortizesp (talk) 15:25, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Move COMMONNAME is clearly (and as with the majority of Spanish people) using just the first surname. Yes, people technically compete under their full legal name because that's how they're registered, yes, people mention their full name when writing a personal biography. But here, the media, the IOC - and the person in question - do not use the full name when not necessary. Kingsif (talk) 23:40, 17 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
