Entertainers vs. musicians
editWay too many people are adding bands to the "Entertainers" column when they should obviously be in "Composers & Musicians." I removed duplicate entries and moved the bands I recognized. Maybe someone can finish the task. Guybrarian (talk) 01:30, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
This is a great idea! I have created a separate section just for sports figures. -- Pinktulip 07:51, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Much potential for this page
editThere is still much potential for this page. Just visit the main Buffalo page and click on "What Links Here" to find more names that already have Wikipedia articles. -- Pinktulip 09:04, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Famous alumni?
editWe might also want to have a list of famous alumni from the local universities.
Removed references to the ability to pick up CBC radio in Buffalo and the SCICOP headquarters in Amherst from the Trivia section, since neither is about famous people from Buffalo. --Guybrarian
Resource
editNote that: http://www.buffalosportshallfame.com/alphalist.html is a helpful list but that many of those list have no direct links to Buffalo. -- Pinktulip 10:17, 26 January 2006 (UTC) i was just wondering about don makowski. i'm not sure if i spelled his name right but he graduated from depew a bunch of years ago and was drafted by green bay before farve came to town. just wondering if i missed it or you did. thanks. War on red links
editI dropped some names because I could not easily find info. Please review if you really wanted to put back anyone I cut. -- Pinktulip 12:48, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Some names I have removed until we get decent pages on them:
Also: The names I pulled out as having attended University at Buffalo are somewhat slipshod. Need a review of this and notable faculty.
red links are bad, but I also took down outside links to myspace pages for Rhyson Hall & General Spade. Seemed like self promo stuff, but I left basic info intact. If I overstepped, by all means reinstate. Kea2 (talk) 21:02, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Trivia
editThe infamous trivia stuff is only for items that are not on the main Buffalo article. -- Pinktulip 13:17, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Greg Sanderson?
editI took this sentance out:
- Known to some as the man who vacumed his face, but also as the husband of Peppers, this can only be Greg Sanderson.
Are we talking about the character in the play "I'll Be Back Before Midnight" or is this an actual person? -- Pinktulip 15:11, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Renaming article
editInstead of the current title, how about changing the title to "List of people from Buffalo, New York"? Maybe that would be a good idea. --JB82c 00:53, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Cleanup
editThis page is a massive mess. There is little order and some items aren't even people at all. Can anyone volunteer to clean up a little? Zyrshnikashnu 21:14, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Duplicative content
editSections 3) Composers and musicians 4) Entertainers and actors largely contain duplicative content. Sections should be paired down and merged. And conversational sentences like "so and so lives here" or "so and so grew up here" need to be removed. AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 13:50, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Also a problem
editMany of the people listed are not from Buffalo per se, but from the surrounding area. This needs to be dealt with in any clean up, maybe with a note in each case. Stepp-Wulf (talk) 03:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC).

This didn't look right being linked as such. However, the subject is worthy of a WP article to link to. Paranormal Skeptic (talk) 15:15, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
