Talk:List of people from Amsterdam

edit

Over the last few days I've been working on this lengthy list. I've added links to 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica and added brief descriptions of what the people do or did. These descriptions replace hidden narrative in Dutch, visible only when editing. I've also edited the photos.

Whilst the list is now much more informative, there remains an issue: over 200 of the items (shown in red) have no link to English wiki. I suspect they originated in a Dutch Wiki list, but I don't know. I think the rules say they ought to be deleted, but given the number involved, I've not done so. Deleting so many would shrink the list, so requiring an edit of the photos too.

The list could (also) be reconciled with [Category:People from Amsterdam] but that is a lengthy task given the numbers involved.

Having highlighted my view of one or two of the issues, I leave to others to decide what, if anything, is to be done, (and to do it!)
