Biased Sources
editSource 11 (concerning the controversy between Olbermann and Matthews) is filled with speculation, weasel words, and it only references other pages on the same tabloid-ish news site and Olbermann Watch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.251.243.16 (talk) 16:25, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
Help
editI need to article to be cleaned up. Thanks.--Mapple001 (talk) 22:35, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hey Mapple, please see Talk:MSNBC#Merger proposal. TomCat4680 (talk) 22:38, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Out of Date?
editThe section of "third prime time lineup" is not out of date because its still significant in my opinion. And just because the position wasn't filled, doesn't mean that it won't be filled in the future.--Mapple001 (talk) 19:02, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ok well at least change the tense to let readers know it is currently on hold. Its in both present tense and past tense, its kind of confusing. TomCat4680 (talk) 19:10, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. --Mapple001 (talk) 19:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Rewrite
editI think this article needs much more than a cleanup. Each section is too short to stand alone. The intro is not representative of the article as a whole, and the entire article is written in a haphazard, informal manner. ----Dgood3001 (talk) 00:59, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Talk to Mapple001 about that, he thinks it needs to be divided up into separate articles. TomCat4680 (talk) 03:04, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned references in History of MSNBC: 2008-present
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of History of MSNBC: 2008-present's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "lat080929":
- From The Rachel Maddow Show (TV series): Gold, Matea (September 29, 2008). "MSNBC's new liberal spark plug Rachel Maddow, political junkie and TV rookie, launches to surprising ratings". Los Angeles Times. Retrieved March 11, 2010.
- From Rachel Maddow: MSNBC's new liberal spark plug Rachel Maddow, political junkie and TV rookie, launches to surprising ratings Los Angeles Times Retrieved 2010-03-11
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 16:55, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Ratings
editIt is pretty hilarious how both this entry and the main "MSNBC" entry are filled with references as to how MSNBC beats CNN in the ratings, how Rachel Maddow has made them competitive in the ratings (I guess having an audience less than half the size of your main competitor is what passes for "competitive" when discussing MSNBC), how MSNBC outdraws CNN's Larry King, etc. yet not a single mention is made of how badly Fox News destroys MSNBC in the ratings. What a surprise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.141.154.75 (talk) 04:15, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

What do the letters in MSNBC stand for?
editI’ve wondered about this for years. Off the top of my head it seems like Microsoft & NBC. Either way I think this should be addressed. Ginrnbsn (talk) 17:39, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
