This article seems to be as much or more about covering the same material as the film does than about the film itself. Maybe there should be an article about the hair of black American women and the things they do to it (in other words, covering the same ground as Mr. Rock's film) and then this article can be edited to be just about the film. I think an article about a documentary should be about the film and not about the topic the documentary is about. (One assumes if the topic is significant enough to inspire a documentary, it's significant enough for a Wikipedia article about it, distinct from the article about the documentary.) I would flag this article if I knew which flag were appropriate.216.244.52.176 (talk) 16:53, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

A Controversy Section For This Article

edit

The lawsuit section, The Oprah Winfrey Section, and the legacy section all bring up criticisms of the documentary, or controversy inspired by or related to the documentary. Would it be appropriate to shift all of those sections into a single "controversy" section for the film? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.36.193.88 (talk) 12:36, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
