Reformed Chicago band
editI am not sure if the Smashing Pumpkins are still based in Chicago? Billy & Jimmy both have houses in LA and Jeff, Lisa and Ginger all seem to call LA home too not Chicago. Funny, I used to see the original band putting up posters in Chicago back in the late '80s, and they used the parking garage down the street from me for a practice space.... rick 09:10, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, I remember reading stories about how Corgan wrote a lot of the tracks on Siamese Dream while actually living in a parking garage, so that's interesting... but I think that in spirit, the band will ALWAYS be a "Chicago" band, as Billy has demonstrated a significant amount of loyalty to the city (he's always been a fan of the Cubs as far as I know, and his "biggest" performances have been in Chicago, like the final show before the breakup in 2000/2001/whenever it was). Plus, the article mentions the ad that ran in a Chicago paper about the reformation of the band. Every famous person nowdays has a house in LA, that doesn't mean that The Smashing Pumpkins is now a California band :) 67.163.165.236 (talk) 07:25, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Plagiarism Problem
editMost (if not all) of this info is stolen word-for-word from Ginger's official website bio. The article needs to be totally redone! ukforever 21:59, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- I certainly agree that it needs to be rewritten but your assertion is a bit liberal. The words have been rearranged, most likely to avoid copyvio, and 'all' of the website most certainly not stolen as the lead-in and Smashing Pumpkins section do not appear on gingersling. com. It's not a total rewrite. It seems more appropriate to have deleted the 'work for word' pieces than label the entire article as a cut and paste job. the_undertow talk 23:46, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
calling you fun-filled Admins...
editI've done some sourcing and a little copyediting. I do not believe this to be an infringement of the original bio page previously mentioned. Can you replace the article page with this little gem? the_undertow talk 01:14, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- I've don a bit too, it should be fine now. Third opinion? Dfrg_msc 06:37, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Name Change
editCan we formally move this article to Ginger Pooley? She has been going by this name since her 2008 marriage to Chris Pooley! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.20.32.239 (talk) 03:56, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
