Fogo Process

edit

For outsiders to the island, Fogo Island is mostly known due to the Fogo process being such an important tool in participatory community development. The term and story is not anywhere in Wikipedia. Wondering whether to enter it here or create a new page about the Fogo process and just wikilink in between. 70.24.136.10 (talk) 15:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Population

edit

Over the time since this article was created the population has been changed from 5,000 to 3,500 to 5,000 and then to 3,000. If anyone has any credible source of information so that this can be settled, please cite it here. Thank you.--Methegreat 18:12, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Etymology

edit

What does the name mean in Portuguese? Badagnani (talk) 21:19, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fire. There is a portuguese map of 1504 already showing the name Fogo, I think it's Reinel's.Câmara (talk) 12:14, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trasnportation

edit

Are there any roads connecting the villages in the island, or are they all accessible by sea only? --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 20:55, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
