Requested COI edits

edit

Hi all, my name is Bennett Golder and I work at strategic comms agency FGS Global on behalf of Farhad Moshiri.

We are requesting two purely factual changes to his article as Mr Moshiri severed business ties with USM following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and his main business interest is now as the majority owner and board member of Everton FC.

In the opening paragraph, we suggest removing: "He is the chairman and a shareholder of USM, a diversified Russian holding company with significant interests across the metals and mining, telecoms, technology and internet sectors." and replacing it with "He is the majority owner and board member of Everton FC."

In the career section after "...which he was appointed as chairman of USM Holdings." we suggest adding in the sentence "He resigned as Chairman of USM Holdings on 2 March 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine."

Note: Dailymail is on the list of deprecated sources. WP:DEPSOURCES Shadow311 (talk) 16:47, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Shadow311, thanks for the flag, I've removed the Daily Mail. Btgolder (talk) 12:29, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question: Btgolder, the Liverpool Echo source states that he left the board on March 2, while your edit request says March 3. Was this a typo, or am I missing something? ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 15:14, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @ARandomName123:, apologies, that's correct. His resignation went into effect on 2 March and the newspaper coverage was from 3 March. Not sure the exact date is that important for the article itself - it's probably ok to say he stepped down in March 2022, but I'll leave that up to you and other editors of course. (hope I used the ping functionality correctly, I'm pretty new to this!) Thanks, Btgolder (talk) 10:39, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Done @Btgolder: but I also preserved his notable history in the lead. STEMinfo (talk) 01:24, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @STEMinfo, that's fair and accurate. Just noticed his occupation in the bio box still has his USM position, I think it should be removed there as well, unless you'd like to just change it to 'former'. Thanks for your help. Btgolder (talk) 10:45, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
