Regarding merge
edit- Merge please. Re-issues don't get separate articles, they get a paragraph in the main article and a Category:Re-released albums -W guice 18:59, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- I am not sure what should be done, because this may be a "re-issue", but it is also a "deluxe" version. It includes a DVD and it includes a song not on the regular version. Should it be re-named "(Deluxe Version)"? -Molly1984 October 16, 2006
- I think the extra song on the CD can be listed under tracks on the main article in the same way that "# Invisible Monsters – 3:57 (Japan-Only Bonus Track)" is listed. A summary of what is on the DVD can also be included in the main article, perhaps under a subheading of "Reissue and DVD". Timb0h 16:29, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- This is not the same album as "Commit this to Memory", therefore, it needs a different entry. Simply, since this release does not have the same track list and also has new material of a separate multimedia format, the release needs to be left on it's own Wikipage.
- Excuse me, but the tracklisting is the SAME on both releases. If the only difference is a DVD is attached, a subheading should be added in regards to this re-release. Radagast83 18:18, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Mcs-commit-this-to-memory.jpg
editImage:Mcs-commit-this-to-memory.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:43, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Article cleaned up
editRegarding the discussion below, the two "albums" are the same. It was already merged, but it read like a press release. I cleaned the article up and added the alternate art in the sidebar. I also added references, which this article is still sorely lacking. Let's try to cite our sources from now on, okay? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rwiggum (talk • contribs) 22:41, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

You've been waiting too long for a review! This is one of my favorite albums, so I'll give it a shot. I'll start the review as soon as I can. Basilisk4u (talk) 07:01, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Notes
edit- Lead
- Perhaps a bit too much background info in the first paragraph, consider removing the mention of "The Future Freaks Me Out" from the first album
- What does it mean for an album to be "cut"? Mixed? Recorded?
- What does "tightening" mean in the context of song arrangement? Perhaps use the word "completing"?
- "The album became the band's breakthrough..." According to whom?
- Background
- There is some passive voice in this section (ex. "Motion City Soundtrack were formed" and "The band was signed"). Remove the "were" and "was"
- "He was so taken with it that he raved about the band in Rolling Stone and the band was asked to come out and open for Blink-182 on their 2004 European tour, where he became good friends with the band" This sentence uses "the band" three times. Use "the group" or "the music" instead, as it is preferable to only use it once in a sentence.
- Recording and production
- "The band did not set out to record their sophomore effort much different than their first" Is this regarding recording techniques? Or musically/lyrically different? Explain more or consider including a direct quote here.
- "He characterized him as both 'very involved and not involved,'" To whom does this refer? Say the person's name instead of "he"
- Music
- I recommend incorporating the part about the record as a "winter album" into the first paragraph of this section to make it flow better
- Consider adding a music sample or two to exemplify the album's sound
- Reception
- Begin the first paragraph with something like "Upon its release, Commit This to Memory received positive reviews from music critics."
- Any information about the album's commercial performance? Use info from the "Charts" section
- Touring
- No major problems here
Overall, a well-written and engaging article that nonetheless has room for small improvements. Good work so far! Basilisk4u (talk) 04:55, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I implemented all your suggestions, and added a couple more things:
- A triple image in the music section listing Justin Pierre's inspirations
- A sound clip
- Some more information on retrospective opinions of the record
Thanks again, let me know if there's any more to be done. Saginaw-hitchhiker (talk) 22:29, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Looks great. I'm passing the article, congrats! Basilisk4u (talk) 04:41, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
