Siren

edit

At the old Montreal Forum, the end of a period of play was marked by the wail of a siren. Is that also the case at the Bell Centre? GBC 20:49, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Last time I checked, a siren is used at the Bell Centre for that purpose. From what I remember, they've been using a siren for some time (since at least 2002). Just recently, they started using a siren at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston (possibly because the old Boston Garden used a siren as well). UD490 22:02, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Can someone please clarify what "hemicycle" (in the capacity section) is supposed to link to? For some reason I don't think a redirect to semicircle is what was intended. 67.101.97.171 23:25, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Centre vs. Center

edit

In English is Canada we use CENTRE not CENTER. Please DO NOT modify this page with regards to this any more. Alex@MTRL (talk) 22:06, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

This IP keeps adding uncited information about another arena, I am 1 from 3RR now, so I will back off, but, if anyone else wants to take care of this, well that would be good. I have given the IP a message on his/her talk page. Dbrodbeck (talk) 20:18, 12 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Strange civic number

edit

The Bell Centre is located between the 1000 de la Gauchetière and the Lucien L'Allier station with civic number 1290. So how is it possible for it to have an odd civic number 1909 when it is located between two even civic numbers? Something is skookum here. I don't trust the official website. Peter Horn User talk 22:00, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

In addition Windsor Station (Montreal) is located on civic number 1100. Could the civic number of the Bell centre, as given, be wrong? Peter Horn User talk 22:20, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
The street name and civic number comprise a vanity address, chosen to commemorate the founding of the Montreal Canadiens. isaacl (talk) 22:31, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
The address is 1260 here http://centrebell.ca/en/page/tickets on the web site. Martin Morin (talk) 22:33, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well 1260 is more like it, but part of De la Gauchetière Street has actually been renamed avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal. Peter Horn User talk 22:54, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Look at the left hand side of the referenced page: the box office address is the vanity address, 1909 avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal. I assume the rental office still has a mailing address corresponding to the portion of the street named de la Gauchetière, or, being a vanity address, the special address is only applied when designating the location of the Bell Centre overall. In accordance with this page and http://centrebell.ca/en/page/directions_parking, I believe the previous address of 1909 avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal should be restored. isaacl (talk) 23:12, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
1909 is the year that the Habs were founded. That's where it comes from. Peter Horn User talk 03:27, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Address

edit

Regarding this edit: this format is the French way of writing an address. In English, there is no comma placed between the civic number and the street. Accordingly, the previous format should be restored. isaacl (talk) 04:59, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I'm a student who is working on finding errors on Wikipedia as part of a school assignment.

I noticed that an external like (#21) in the Bell_Centre#References is broken and does not outsource possible readers to the network page.
