editIf he never married and he got caught having gay sex, can't he be listed in LGBT categories? I would love to list him under the LGBT African Americans section but fear I'd be accused of vandalism. The word "gay" didn't become current until the 1960s or so, thus it may be seen as "presentist." However, it's implied that he voluntarily had gay sex, and thus desired it.
