Reasons for which this Article should NOT be deleted
edita) this election is the last statewide office democrats hold in missouri - and this election will be very key b) this election is the last statewide office held by a female candidate c) this election is still around 2 years from happening so I don't think that apart from Nicole Galloway there are any major candidates d) I have been looking at the MO Secretary of State page frequently to see if there are any new candidates Lovin' Politics — Preceding undated comment added 03:37, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
Candidates file starting in March 2022. A candidate can declare they are running by 1) File a MEC campaign committee or by press release. Or become a potential by declaring they are considering it. The potential Republicans are removed because none of the people named has started they are considering running. I agree the article is important MOPolitics (talk) 22:28, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

- @Kirby1706: For future reference, if you want to contest a PROD, you need to remove the entire template, not just the concern line. I've gone ahead and fixed it for you, but please remember this. — csc-1 03:35, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. I realized I did it wrong and was trying to figure out how to do it.05:22, 2 March 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kirby1706 (talk • contribs)
It is not an actual source of potential candidates.
edit"The names mentioned most often for auditor are Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick, state Sen. Bob Onder, House Speaker Elijah Haahr, state Reps. David Gregory and Mary Elizabeth Coleman, and losing 2018 candidate Saundra McDowell."
The source is a Missouri Independent op-ed by Jeff Smith. No sources show any interest by any of these people. It appears it is chatter among political circles but Jeff Smith does not say where this information cones from. MOPolitics (talk) 22:20, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- If the candidates mentioned interest they would be under expressed interest and not potential. Potential candidates are candidates who's names have been floated around as possible candidates. By your own admission, they are by definition potential canidates. Kirby1706 (talk) 22:13, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
