Manson?

edit

What about the Manson credit on the "Never Learn Not to Love" track? I mean, Chuck M should have almost all the composer/lyricist credits, having released his solo version on his solo album "LIE". Jus' wunderin'. 82.181.201.82 (talk) 21:45, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree, and since no objections in 2 and a half years am entering the credit now.Ramseyman (talk) 19:27, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:2020Cover.jpg

edit

Image:2020Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Genre Warring

edit

So the person that cited Ranker.com as a reliable source needs this information to be discussed at length otherwise I'll be banned for their genre warring.

• The Rock and Pop genres are cited by numerous sources across the web about this album, (Ex. Rolling Stone, MusicHound, and the dreaded AllMusic, which is cited by the Library of Congress as a reliable source but because of 2 instances that don't apply here we must discredit it's reliability), so there really should be no issue there and the album is cited by Amazon to be a high seller on the Psychedelic charts and as this is non user based information it should be reliable enough to trust but can be removed if that is not enough.

• Having a genre listed does not in any way shape or form detract the article's reliability or credibility and can encourage further reading on the subjects for the reader or researcher so this shouldn't be an issue.

I see no reason to disagree with this addition other than disagreement for disagreements sake but if you see a problem please discuss. InternetEnigma (talk) 06:35, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

You added pop, rock and psychedelic genres.
This Rolling Stone source doesn't describe the album like that. It says the Beach Boys are a rock band, but not the album. It says there is a psychedelic guitar part in one song, but that's not the album genre. It describes the genres of various songs, but those are individual song genres, not the overall genre of the album.
This 2019 Rolling Stone review says nothing about psychedelic or rock. It says the band is "a group whose catalog is built on flawless pop gems" but this doesn't affirm 20/20 as pop.
This AllMusic review has a prose description by Stephen Thomas Erlewine which does not identify an overall album genre. We don't use the unreliable sidebar genres per WP:ALBUMAVOID.
Album genres must be explicitly describing the album, not the artist or the songs. Binksternet (talk) 14:23, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
