1900 Puerto Rican general election

General elections were held in Puerto Rico in November 1900. Federico Degetau was elected Resident Commissioner.[1] 35 seats were elected up for election in the House of Delegates, as well as elections for mayors, boards of councils, school commissioners, and road supervisors.[2]

The Federal Party boycotted the elections.[2]

The Organic Act (also known as the Foraker Bill) introduced the elections.[2] The act put in place an Executive Council (composed of six Americans and five Puerto Ricans) which determined the electoral rules.[2]
