Portnahinch or Portnehinch (Irish: Port na hInse[1] is a barony in County Laois (formerly called Queen's County or County Leix), Ireland.[2][3][4]

Etymology
editThe barony is named after the townland of Portnahinch (Port na hInse; "port of the island").[5][6]
Geography
editPortnahinch is located in the northeastern part of County Laois.[7]
History
editPortnahinch formed part of the ancient Kingdom of Uí Failghe.[8][9][10]
