List of ports in Great Britain

This is a list of the seaports of Great Britain.

Major operators

edit

Five companies own many of the largest of UK ports: Associated British Ports (ABP), Forth Ports, Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), Peel Group and PD Ports’ meanwhile the largest independent trust ports are Aberdeen, Belfast, Blyth, Dover, London and Milford Haven.[1][2]

All of these port operators are members of the British Ports Association, the national trade body for ports and harbours,[3] and publish trade statistics for HM Revenue and Customs.[4]

Some of these ports will be converted to Free-ports: special economic zones where customs rules such as taxes do not apply until goods leave the port.[5]
