Upon announcement of the album, Illy said "The saying 'the good life' paints a picture of easy streets, white picket fences, and blue skies. The real 'good life’' is in belief – knowing who you are, taking your lumps and hard times, pushing forward, proving people (sometimes yourself) wrong, and seeing it through." Illy added "The last few years have battered me, I can't lie. But Australia has given me a lot, and this is a love song to Australia, Australian hip-hop and rock and roll and the deeply Australian 'never say die' spirit that got me through."[4]
Release
editThe album was announced on 12 September 2024 and scheduled for release on 24 October 2024.[2][4] On 22 October 2024, Illy posted a note via instagram, saying the album has been delayed and would be released on 15 November 2024.[5]
