Complex licence

Discussion from my talk page, for the record. Andrew🐉(talk) 12:54, 13 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Why does your description say that the photo was taken by you, but the license is from the government? — Ирука13 04:31, 13 November 2024 (UTC)

  • It's a complex case. To clarify:
  1. I took the overall photo, as stated.
  2. The scene is a video display building which is open-air in a plaza, open to the public and so freedom of panorama applies.
  3. In this case, it was displaying a NASA photo and so it's a picture within a picture.
  4. The US government licence refers to the NASA photo which is the focus of the picture.
I'm not sure what more might be done to clarify this and am open to suggestions. For another older, open-air display nearby, see File:Open Happiness Piccadilly Circus Blue-Pink Hour 120917-1126-jikatu.jpg.

In that case, please add a license template for the photo itself. — Ирука13 09:58, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
Ok. And I'll copy this discussion there too. Andrew🐉(talk) 12:38, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
