Summary

Description
English: The 5.25 inch disk on the left supports 35 data tracks, the one on the right with the larger opening supports 40 tracks. When Shugart introduce the SA-400 Minifloppy in August 1976 it used 35 tracks. In 1977 Wangco Inc. of Garden Grove, California announced the Model 82 Micro Floppy that was compatible with the SA-400 but it supported 40 data tracks.

The diskettes for the Shugart SA-400 Minifloppy were jointly developed by Dysan Corporation and Information Terminals Corporation.

The claim of copyright is for the contents of the disk, not the hand made labels. These provide a date the disks were first used.
