English: 170310-N-HE318-166 PHILIPPINE SEA (March 10, 2017) An anti-submarine rocket (ASROC) is launched from the aft missle deck of the forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) during Multisail 17. The bilateral training exercise improves interoperability between the U.S. and Japanese forces. Participants benefit from realistic, shared training enhancing our ability to work together to confront any contingency.
