Summary

Description

This painting is based upon Bhagat Kabir’s bani and wondering how and when a person will meet his end. Death is the ultimate reality of life. But no one knows how the person is going to meet the end. (ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ) Many complaints were registered with Sikandar Lodhi. The elephant didn’t harm Kabir, who was embodiment of Truth. On contrary, the elephant bowed respectful before him. In the painting, the Artist has depicted various ways a person can meet his end. Many people die during floods, fire, aeroplane crash, murder, disease, epidemic, accident, drug addiction etc. Death is the ultimate truth. । But if people has firm faith and belief in their religion - they can meet their end peacefully and get salvation. In Gurbani stress is always laid on physical & mental strength of a person. As it is always said ‘ A healthy mind in a healthy body.’ One has to be strong mentally, rather than having fear of death all the time. This can be by praying to God to give strength and Will- power to face today’s situation of pandemic of Corona. Gurus always gave importance to the physical and mental strength of the individuals. Guru is always wonderful because he teaches the way to reach Almighty God. True believers in their faith ( God, ੴ, ਉਮ, ਅੱਲਾ ) will meet their end peacefully and achieve salvation. । My father Artist Trilok Singh ( 1914-1990) has depicted these Gurbani lines in the painting beautifully. This work is of 1987.
