English: Torness Power Station. Electricity at the nuclear power station at Torness is produced from two advanced gas-cooled reactors. Construction began in 1980 and the power station, operated by British Energy plc, was commissioned in 1988. Barns Ness Lighthouse 916674 is behind the power station on the right with the lighthouse on the Bass Rock 62122 visible in the central background. Viewed from Greenside Hill on the north side of the A1107 road between Cockburnspath and Coldingham.
