Summary
The Keep is a private estate of 44 freehold and leasehold houses in Blackheath, London. It was built in the late 1950's by Span Estates using Eric Lyons using his T2 designs. It is located next to (but not in) The Cator Estate in Blackheath. Houses within the estate have postcodes of either SE3 0AF or SE3 0AG.
Landscaping
Like all Span Estates The Keep was carefully landscaped using the designs of Ivor Cunningham. Each house has small front gardens with large communal space with low and medium sized shrubs. Additional strips of shrub planting serve as a buffer zone to soften the lines of buildings and direct cars into dedicated parking bays with strategically planted trees. See Eric Lyons & Span for more information.
Keep Residents Association
Like most span estates The Keep has its own residents association, The Keep Residents Association (KRA), a private company registered at Companies House. The company is owned by the 44 freehold and leasehold owners of houses on The Keep. It is funded by an annual subscription guaranteed by a Scheme of Management. The purpose of the company is to maintain the roads, pavements and communal gardens owned by the KRA. Directors of the company are responsible for the collection of subscriptions to the company and the management of the estate. Directors are typically appointed by the shareholders (or in some occasions invited to join the board by current directors). The KRA holds an AGM in May where shareholders are invited participate in major decision making for the company as well as carry out the statutory duty of the company.
Morden Road Mews
The KRA are also owners of Morden Road Mews (51°28′04″N 0°01′00″E / 51.467656°N 0.016742°E / 51.467656; 0.016742) a private unmade road with x houses situated upon it (a mix of Eric Lyons XX designs and other modern and Victorian designs).
