English: Engraving entitled "Source of Bairis River" (now Banas River). Plate 23 of James Tod's Annals and antiquities of Rajast'han or the Central and WEstern Rajpoot States of India published in London in 1829. About this scence, Tod wrote: "Here we amused ourselves in chalking out the site of our projected residence on the heights of the Toos, and in fishing at the source of the Baris. Of this scene I present the reader with a view; and if he allows his imagination to ascend the dam which confines the waters of the lake, he may view the Oodi-sagur, with its islets..."
Edward Francis Finden (1791-1857) and Patrick Young Waugh (1788-1829) Engravers.
