English: Sella Curulis - Curule Seat (one of a pair): Wood carved and gilded. Possibly Berlin around 1810. The desgin probably by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Provenance: Property of a private collector in Belgian where bought in unrestored condition by renowned dealer Dirk D. Maeyaert, Koningin Elisabethlaan 20, Brugge, Belgian, who had them restored an upholstered with the present fabric (before they were covered with a pale green silk damask with white flowers). Later with dealer Marc-Arthur Kohn, Paris, who offered them at auction in Monaco. In 2012 sold by Koller Auctions, Zurich, Lot 1170 (estimation: CHF 55'000.-), with an expertise by the Cabinet Dillée, Guillaume Dillée/Simon Pierre Etienne, Paris, to a Swiss private collector.
