English: In the past, a great seal of the realm was given by royal tradition to the Senabodi (Minister) as a symbol of honor. When the Minister retired from the position, he had to return the great seal of the realm. Chanthonmonthon seal, the personal seal of Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Phichaiyat after he had been appointed as the Minister of Justice, was bestowed upon the Minister of Justice. Later, in 1916 during the reign of King Vajiravudh ( Rama VI), Chanthonmonthon seal was changed to Dullapah seal.

Dullapah Seal Dullapah is a large seal, with a scale across on the sword standing on the double petal lotus above lion figure and Ka-nok design encircling the seal. Dulaphah seal was created in accordance with His Royal Highness Prince Krom Luang Prachin Kitibodi’s advice.

Dullapha means a tool used to measure or weight for justice and is named “Tra Chu”, which is used to measure the weight. In figurative meaning, the word means responsibility to maintain justice and impartiality without any prejudice.
