English: Sayyida al Hurra (which translates as "Lady who is free and independent") (Arabic: السيدة الحرة‎), real name Lalla Aicha bint Ali ibn Rashid al-Alami, Hakimat Titwan (1485 – 14 July 1561)[1], was a queen of Tétouan in 1515–1542 and a pirate queen in the early 16th century.[2] She is considered to be "one of the most important female figures of the Islamic West in the modern age"
العربية: السيدة الحرة (شفشاون، 1485م) أميرة الجهاد البحري شمال المغرب الأقصى وزوجة أمير تطوان علي المنظري والسلطان أبو العباس الوطاسي بفاس وحاكمة تطوان وشفشاون خلال الفترة ما بين 1515-1542، وهي ابنة الأمير مولاي علي بن موسى بن رشيد العلمي وأخت الصدر الأعظم إبراهيم بن راشد. سميت بهذا الاسم تيمنا بعائشة الحرة والدة أبو عبدالله الأحمر آخر ملوك غرناطة الذي كان صديقا لمؤسس شفشاون. والدها هو مؤسس المدينة، وأمها اسبانية من منطقة قادش . اعتنقت الإسلام. وتعتبر أحد أهم نساء المغرب الكبير في القرن السادس عشر.
Français : Sayyida al-Hurra (en arabe السيدة الحرة), de son nom complet Sayyida al-Hurra bint Ali ibn Rashid, surnommée parfois Sitt al-Hurra (née en 1485, morte après 1542), est une princesse de Tétouan, régente de la cité de 1515 à 1542. Elle est considérée comme l'une des personnalités les plus importantes de l'Occident musulman de l'époque moderne1. Elle est connue pour la lutte qu'elle mène contre les Portugais qui occupent Ceuta et pour son alliance avec le corsaire turc Arudj Barberousse.
