Summary

Description

Sainte Marie (Nosy Boraha) is a 60 km long island off the eastern coast of Madagascar.

Unfortunately, there is hardly anything left of the island's original rainforest cover. The remaining intact area covers less than 5% of its original extent, and remains unprotected. It is slowly being eaten up by slash-and-burn subsistence agriculture and will probably disappear within the next 10 years.
