Summary

Description
English: This type of lug- rigged dugout, locally called "banting" or "atcheen" boat, but generally designated as "fast boat" by Europeans, is commonly used at Johore, Straits Settlements, India. It is one of the most remarkable forms of dugout canoe in the world, and its fine sailing qualities have earned for it the cognomen of " fast boat."
