English: A gun from HMS Lutine (1779) on the North Terrace at Windsor Castle. The plaque reads:
"This gun formed part of the armament of His Majesty's Ship, HMS LUTINE, which was totally lost off the coast of HOLLAND on 9th October 1798. On the conclusion of peace the wreck, which contained a large treasure, was handed over by the DUTCH government to the corporation of LLOYD'S where the treasure had been insured. The wreck was embedded in sand in nine fathoms of water. In 1886 this gun was salvaged having lain for nearly 100 years beneath the sea, and was presented by the corporation of LLOYD'S to HER MAJESTY QUEEN VICTORIA".
