English: The Louisbourg Cross is believed to have marked a religious site at Louisbourg. It was taken to Harvard University shortly after the siege of 1745. Although records identifying its donor were destroyed in a fire, Harvard archivists speculate that the cross was brought to the university by an alumnus that fought at Louisbourg in that siege.
