English: This image shows a mantle xenolith embedded in basalt from Kilbourne Hole, New Mexico, US. The xenolith is a fragment of mantle rock that was carried intact to the surface by the eruption that formed Kilbourne Hole. Most such xenoliths are composed of Type I lherzolite.
