Description
English: Kelimutu, a small volcano on Flores Island, in Indonesia, is noted for its three crater lakes of different colors. This aerial view from the SW shows Tiwu Ata Mbupu (Lake of Old People) at the lower left, and the double craters of Tiwu Nua Muri Kooh Tai (Lake of Young Men and Maiden) and Tiwu Ata Polo (Bewitched, or Enchanted Lake) at the upper right. Water color varies periodically, but is often blue, green, and red, respectively. Phreatic eruptions have occurred from the middle lake in historical time.
Français : Le Kélimutu, petit volcan de l'île de Flores en Indonésie, est remarquable par ses trois lacs de cratère aux couleurs différentes. Cette vue aérienne depuis le sud-ouest montre ,à gauche, le Tiwu Ata Mbupu ( Lac des personnes âgées), et en supérieur droit les deux lacs de cratère juxtaposés, le Tiwu Nua Muri Kooh Tai ( Lac des jeunes hommes et jeunes filles) et le Tiwu Ata Polo ( Lac ensorcelé ou enchanté). La couleur de l'eau varie périodiquement dans les tons de bleu, vert et rouge. Le lac du milieu a été le site d'éruptions en temps historique.
