Description |
An Essex police "radio log" dated 7 August 1985, one of two police logs released by the police in 1985, showing that someone telephoned them to report the White House Farm murders. The log was created by Malcolm Bonnett, a civilian dispatcher. What the logs say and who made the call has been much discussed by the courts and media. According to both the prosecution and the defence team of Jeremy Bamber, who was convicted of the murders, the logs constitute crucial evidence, although their interpretation of them is very different. This can't be conveyed in words alone, because every aspect of the logs is relevant. See White House Farm murders#Telephone logs. For discussion, see, for example, Carol Ann Lee, The Murders at White House Farm, Pan Macmillan, 2015, 164–165. Also see Nick Collins, "Jeremy Bamber murders: new evidence could clear killer", The Daily Telegraph, 5 August 2010 (note that this describes the defence's interpretation of the radio log):
