Summary

Description
English: The "Grosse Allee" or "Grand Avenue" in Bad Arolsen, Hesse, Germany is a remarkable avenue built in 1676. About one mile long and running from east to west, it is lined by about 880 oak trees in a six-row alignment. Mostly during the summer months it invites scores of people for a stroll. The avenue was built as a prestigious connecting way for the carriages between the "Residenzschloss" and the princely "Lustschloss", the latter having been torn down in the year 1725.
