DescriptionGorse Fire in Killarney National Park.jpg
English: Burning gorse between the 15th of April and the 31st of August is in violation of the 1976 Wildlife Act so this fire was perfectly legal. One of the best ways to control gorse is to burn and then follow-up with sheep/goats grazing.
Gorse contributes to controlling concentrations of radicals that modify atmospheric methane and carbon monoxide concentrations and may have a feedback effect on climate modification.
Some of these gorse fires encroach on the Killarney National Park where there is an indigenous red deer herd.
