Summary

Description A single-manual Flemish harpsichord of the Ruckers school, signed Marc Ducornet, Paris 2003[1]. GG-d’’’, 56 notes + 1 note for 440 position, 2X8’, buff stop, traditional Flemish keyboard with bone slipped naturals and arcades with leather decoration, oak accidentals. Stop levers through the nameboard. Decorative rose on the soundboard. Length 209 cm, width 85.8 cm, weight about 55 kg. Painted throughout by Alison Woolley of Florence[2], with designs based on the Claviorganum by Lodewyk Theewes of 1579 in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London[3], being faux-iron strapwork on an ox-blood base, the inside of the lid with sphinx, birds, a monkey, and an cartouche of Orpheus taming the animals in a mountainous landscape. On an oak stand based on a painting Portrait de famille by Gillis van Tilborgh, ca 1650-1675, in the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts et d'Archéologie, Brussels [4].

    "​ヒリス・ファン・テルボルフは、ブリュッセルに生まれて同地で没したフランドル人画家です。絵画については画家だった父親に基礎を学んだと言われます。 / 1654年にブリュッセルの画家組合に登録された彼は、ダフィット・テニールス David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690) を模した風俗画や、ゴンザレス・コックス Gonzales Coques (1614-1684) に類似した中産階級の市民のグループ肖像画を多く描きました。 / ここで取り上げた『家族の肖像』は、コックス的な家族肖像画のひとつです。天井の高い立派な暖炉のある居間につどう人々は、裕福な商人の家族でしょう。正面の暖炉の上に掛けられた風俗画と右壁の風景画以外にも、3枚ほど小さな絵画が飾られています。 / 左側には金を秤にかけるこの家の主人と帳面をつけている従僕、主人に紙切れを差し出している息子らしき人物が描かれ、中央には刺繍をする女主人とハサミを持って立つ女中と、3人の娘たちが描かれています。 / 右に描かれているチェンバロを弾く女性は長女でしょうか。彼女の座る椅子の背に手をかけている男性は、多分、彼女の婚約者なのでしょう。チェンバロの脚の形が、なかなか面白いと思います。/ (2007/10/23) "
