Summary
editPicture from the 1920 Owl student yearbook at the University of Pittsburgh. Joseph "Colonel Joe" Henry Thompson was a highly successful player and head football coach for the Pitt Panthers before becoming a decorated hero and recipient of the Medal of Honor during World War I. Joe was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
