DescriptionField with earthworks, Wychnor - geograph.org.uk - 1584579.jpg
English: Field with earthworks, Wychnor Only seen with the eye of faith, and the farmer has put up notices making it clear that he does not want people to wander over the field looking for humps and bumps. The OS map indicates earthworks, and they surely must mark the position of the 'lost' village of Wychnor. The church is nearby and the manor house, strangely, was lower down near the River Trent, and liable to flooding. Its position is probably marked by the caption 'moat' on the OS map. The farmhouse in the distance is Wychnor Hill Farm.
