DescriptionEnglish Building University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from south.jpg
The English Building, located at 608 S. Wright Street in Urbana, Illinois, on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was designed by McKim, Mead & White and built in 1905 as the Woman's Building, a dormitory which included a pool, locker rooms and gymnasium. The building was added to or renovated in 1913, designed by William Carbys Zimmerman, and 1924, by James McLaren White. It spent some time with the name "Bevier Hall", until it was taken over by the university's English department in 1956. (Source: [1])
