English: A digitally retouched panel of Show Girl in Hollywood, a 1929 novel by J. P. McEvoy (1894–1958) serialized in Liberty magazine and illustrated by John H. Striebel (1891–1962), featuring the character Dixie Dugan. The appearance and escapades of Dixie Dugan were based on Jazz Age film actress Louise Brooks (1906–1985). Dixie Dugan became a long-running syndicated newspaper comic strip published from October 21, 1929 to October 8, 1966.
